Chemical Peels and Facials
A chemical peel is a technique used to improve and smooth the texture of your skin. The peel gently removes the outermost layer of the skin, leaving you with completely fresh, untouched skin. Results include even-toned, smooth, tightened, and refreshed skin.
Chemical peels can be used to treat acne scars, uneven pigmentation, rough skin, wrinkles, fine lines, and sun spots/damage.
How does it work?
Chemical peels are a safe and effective treatment to remove the outermost layers of skin in order to expose new, untouched skin. Your dermatologist will create a chemical mixture specifically tailored to your face and skin type to ensure the best results.
While patients can return to normal activities immediately after treatment, the skin is sensitive and should be makeup free and protected from the sun for at least 2-4 days. Most patients begin to experience peeling after 48 hours, which resolves itself in 2-5 days.
What Are Dermal Fillers?
Dermal fillers are injectable gel-like substances used to treat a wide range of cosmetic issues in the face and hands, including diminished volume, fine lines, wrinkles, and scars. Several different companies make fillers, and each has its own unique formulations, which are useful for treating distinct problems in separate areas of the face.
By filling in certain areas of the face, we can contour and create the visage you’ve always dreamed of. Over time, dermal fillers are slowly absorbed by the body and most last anywhere from 12 to 24 months before necessitating a touch-up.
Dermal fillers and botox are both minimally invasive, injectable cosmetic treatments. Both are performed as outpatient procedures in the comfort of your doctor’s office and require minimal downtime. While both can improve the overall appearance of the face, they achieve this in different ways.
Botox is primarily used to treat fine lines and wrinkles. It is a purified form of the botulinum toxin, but is a safe, FDA approved treatment that has been used for several decades now.
Botox works by blocking nerve signals to the muscles that cause fine lines around the eyes, forehead, and mouth, also known as expression lines. By blocking the nerve signals, muscles in the injection site become temporarily paralyzed, thus softening or eliminating wrinkles from the area. These results can last up to three months, and the treatment takes about five minutes to complete.
Dermal fillers, on the other hand, are primarily used to rejuvenate the skin and add volume and fullness to various areas of the face. Different brands and types of fillers are made of varying ingredients, including:
- Hyaluronic acid, such as JUVÉDERM®, Restylane®, and Belotero®
- Calcium hydroxylapatite, such as RADIESSE®
- Poly-L-lactic acid, such as Sculptra®
- Polymethyl-methacrylate microspheres (PMMA), such as Bellafill®
Each of these fillers is designed to treat certain kinds of aging or other cosmetic issues. Depending on which one is used, they can last anywhere from 12 to 24 months. On average, treatment takes approximately 45-60 minutes.
Weight loss is something with which millions of people struggle. As you know, your weight doesn’t just contribute to your physical appearance. Your weight and the amount of fat in your body can help or hurt your body by contributing to either a healthy physique or lead to medical issues such as high blood pressure, diabetes, and heart disease. Weight loss is not just about restricting calories, which is what most people try to do. Weight loss is really about correcting your nutrition, managing your stress, and for some, working with or around chronic diseases and medical conditions.
Thanks to ongoing advances in medical science, many effective treatments now exist to help overcome erectile dysfunction (ED). Dr. Spohn and the team at Bella Wellness & Aesthetics can correctly identify the cause and then work with you to create a comprehensive plan for treating ED. Bioidentical Hormone Replacement Therapy
Bioidentical Hormone Replacement Therapy (BHRT) is used to treat both men and women experiencing imbalances or drops in their naturally-occurring hormones. Hormones are responsible for most of your essential bodily functions, so when they are disrupted in any way, cascade effects across all your systems can ensue.
Symptoms that are common with menopause such as hot flashes, night sweats, mood changes, memory loss, weight gain, sleep issues, and low libido can be dramatically improved with BHRT. For many other conditions, BHRT can improve vitality, energy, mental clarity, mood, weight loss, and even muscle strength!
BHRT comes in several different forms, and at Bella Wellness & Aesthetics, we carefully take into consideration your symptoms, medical conditions, and history before making a recommendation for a specific treatment.
Cutera Laser Hair Removal
Unwanted or excessive hair growth can leave you feeling down and less-confident about your appearance, while ingrown hairs can cause a lot of pain and unsightly bumps. In the past, treatment for these issues was only effective for lighter skinned individuals with dark hair, but fortunately laser hair removal has become more accessible and advanced in recent years. At our practice, we are able to safely treat people with virtually all skin types and hair colors.
Lasers emit a specialized, pulsed light, which is absorbed by the pigment in your hair and then transmitted down the hair shaft to the root. The hair follicle is damaged by the heat of the laser, which prohibits future growth.
Before your procedure, we will evaluate your skin and hair type in order for us to select the best laser to suit your needs. We will also thoroughly discuss the possible risks, your expectations, and the best ways to prepare for treatment.
The duration of each session varies depending on what area of the body you are having treatment. A small area such as the upper lip may take only five minutes, while a larger area like the back or legs may take up to one hour. The area should be shaved or cut short prior to treatment. For best results, we recommend that you do not wax or pluck hairs for three weeks prior to treatment.
Laser hair removal is safe and effective when performed by a physician or other licensed professional specializing in laser technology. At our practice, you can expect the highest level of treatment from our qualified professionals.

Varicose veins (a.k.a. “spider veins”) are small blood vessels that are red, purple, and/or blue that twist and turn. They are easily visible through the skin, making them almost impossible to cover up with makeup. They are typically visible on the legs and face.
For varicose veins in the legs, we offer safe, effective, and fast laser treatment that will drastically reduce the appearance of the unwanted spidery webs.
Forget painful treatments and long recovery times, laser vein removal uses energy to destroy the blood vessel which is then absorbed back into the body. Patients describe the sensation as a light snapping sensation on the skin.
Sessions usually take 30-60 minutes depending on the veins being treated. Sometimes, two to three sessions are required for the desired results. There is no downtime and you may resume all normal activities immediately after treatment. Results will begin to show a few days after treatment and will continue to improve for the following six weeks. For more information or to request an appointment, give us a call today!

PRP for Hair Loss
Hair loss can be the result of several underlying conditions, stress, or improper hair care. Many patients request an appointment once they notice that their hair is thinning or falling out, but sometimes, hair loss is not apparent.
Signs of hair loss include:
- Receding hairline
- Thinning of the hair on the scalp over time
- Balding that leaves the crown of the head exposed
- Sudden loss of patches of hair
- Loss of hair on the body
Here at Bella Wellness & Aesthetics, we use platelet-rich plasma therapy to help with hair restoration. Platelet-rich plasma therapy is a 100% natural way to harness your body’s own regenerative powers. In just 20 minutes, this treatment can help treat thinning hair and can help restore your confidence.
How does it work?
Your blood is drawn normally, just as it would be done in your PCP’s office.
The blood is then purified in a centrifuge to extract the plasma.
The platelet-rich plasma (PRP) is then injected into the areas in need of treatment using microneedles for maximum patient comfort and precision, stimulating your natural regenerative process.
Since the PRP is full of growth proteins, the injection will promote the growth of new, healthy hair. We use needles that are finer in diameter than a human hair, for maximum patient comfort.
Mild improvement will be noticeable within the first few weeks, but maximum results may not occur until the 4-6 month mark. Most patients will require several treatments to achieve their desired results.

PRP for Facials

- Intense pulse light (ITP): This treatment pulses light rays on the affected areas to remove discoloration and tighten sagging skin.
- Chemical peels: Chemical peels are a non-surgical, outpatient procedure that causes your skin to exfoliate at an expedited rate to remove the outermost layers of your skin to reveal new, rejuvenated skin.
- Dermabrasion: Refers to the surgical scraping of your skin to soften skin surface irregularities to reveal healthier, brighter complexion.
We want you feeling confident in your skin which is why we utilize only the safest, most effective skin rejuvenation treatments for our patients. For more information on skin rejuvenation or to request an appointment, please don’t hesitate to contact us today at (402) 204-5709.
